Invitation From A Double World Champion

Submitted by Steve Crowder on Sat, 21/01/2012 - 15:22

Twice World Champion Iain Barr With Silver Salver 2009Dear Fellow Angler
I would like to wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year.
I would like to invite you tor the UK's biggest and friendliest bank fly fishing championships. With £2000 individual first prize at the final, a UK holiday with fishing included, large tackle prizes, tagged fish prizes and many others, it promises to be an exciting event with Sky Sports TV capturing every moment. The final will be held on May 20th, 2012 at Elinor Trout Fishery, Northamptonshire. Elinor is a 50 acre lake and is a superb venue with some of the best still water fishing available. Prolific buzzer hatches during May will ensure a final to remember with fish feeding close to the margins on an abundance of natural food.

It will be a friendly run competition, ensuring catching fish is simply just part of the day. Each entrant in to every heat will walk away with an Airflo fly line and a pack of 12 award winning Iain Barr World Champions Choice flies worth over £50! Heat winners will walk away with a prize and there will be a 'wild card' prize of a £25 voucher to be spent at Hart Fly Shop.

There will be a number of wild qualifiers for the final so every entrant has a chance. Rotational pegging and a devised scoring system will ensure that a 'lucky draw' scenario does not come in to effect.

As a bank fishing competition, places are limited at each venue and demand is very high.

Please find an entry form attached showing an option of venues across the UK.

I look forward to seeing you on the water and wish you all tight lines for 2012!

If I can be of any help please do not hesitate to contact me.
Enjoy Fishing - It's the taking part that counts, not the winning.

Entry form attached or can be found at each fishery.
Iain - Events organiser

After receiving the above invitation from Iain Barr I thought I would try and further support such a fantastic idea and emailed Iain a request that I could use this material for a blog post and I got this reply from the UK's Double Fly Fishing World Champion

Hi Steve
Thanks for the email. It is going well but the more publicity the better, so yes, please publish on your blog.
I wanted to give something to the majority angler and where most people start, the smaller still waters. It is bank fishing so no boat fees and I have managed to give away items in the goody bag.
So yes please, try and encourage as many as possible. It will be fun, I will be on hand to help at many heats, got assistants in Ireland and Scotland, running heats and I will certainly be on hand to help all finalists.
Thanks for all your help and please send the url when you have put it in your blog
thanks again

Iain

So if you want to participate in a great World Bank Masters Open Championships - 2012 competition with fantastic prizes, goody bags, with a chance to meet Iain Barr thrown into the bargain I recommend you enter this and give it your support.
