BlackBerry Internet Service Over The Air Calendar Sync to Gmail

Here are some simple step by step instructions for creating two way calendar synchronisation to your BlackBerry device that is using the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) with your Gmail account. This is completely different to having your BlackBerry device under Enterprise Activation which connects to a corporate BlackBerry Exchange Server (BES).
- First make sure you have a Google Mail account setup
- If you do not have a Gmail account you can create one from this Google Mail link.
- Once you have a fully working Gmail account you can proceed
- Go to the Google Mobile site
- An option is to watch the Google Sync video, better is to click the "Download app from m.google.com/sync" link under the BlackBerry header
- Enter your mobile number into the pop up window and a link for downloading Google Sync will be sent to your BlackBerry device via SMS
- On your BlackBerry click on the link contained within the SMS Google sent to your device
- Follow the on screen instructions to allow the download and installation of Google Sync, you may need to enter your device password, when I installed this app it was at version 0.5.15
- Once it has installed you can run the app and also set some options by clicking the 7 dots BlackBerry logo button on your device
- When To Sync Choose either Automatic or Manual
- Check Sync Contacts
- Check Sync Calendar
- Sync Events for next 24 weeks or less
- Keep Events for previous 4 weeks
- Sync these Calendars:
- Your Google Mail account should show up here after the first successful sync
- Save your changes and run the sync
- The sync will take some time and it is probably best if you just let your device get on with this and not try and use your device while it is syncing
- Only new calendar events that you add after installing Google Sync will actually show up so now is the time to properly test this
- First test the calendar by adding an entry on your device and running the sync again on your BlackBerry
- In your Google Mail account click on Calendar and navigate to the day you entered your new event on your BlackBerry and it should also be there in Google Calendar - Tip use the direction arrow to get to the day if needed
- The second test is to add an event in your Google Mail calendar by clicking on any future date and time slot, give it a title in the What: box and clicking Create event. Run the sync again on your BlackBerry and once completed your second test event should show up in your BlackBerry device calendar
- Enjoy!
We hope these 23 steps bring you synchronisation heaven and helps folks out there wanting to use BlackBerry Internet Service over the air calendar synchronisation, let us know how you get on with these instructions below

BlackBerry functions as a personal digital assistant with address book, calendar and to-do list capabilities. It also functions as a portable media player with support for music and video playback and camera picture and video capabilities. BlackBerry is primarily known for its ability to send and receive (push) Internet e-mail wherever mobile network service coverage is present, or through Wi-Fi connectivity. I found another god articles about blackberry manual. You can check this at pdfpal.org.

Dear Crowdersblog, I have found the advice on this page about the google calender and syncing it with Blackberrys to be REALLY helpful. I need to keep a regular record of my work activites and had thought that I could do that on my Blackberry> but when I did a look-back on my blackberry calender I found that there were nil activites recorded. Having diligently updated it on a daily basis for 3 months, this was very frustrating to say the least.
That was 3 wks ago. Your advice has been a Godsend. By syncing regularly all the data I have entered into my Blackberry calender since has been saved into the google calander. I am hoping that it saves this data long term in the google calendar - Iwill let you know how it goes. THANKYOU SO MUCH!
